Sweater Mania!

I know it's absolutely not appropriate for the hot weather right now and I really don't know where the sudden urge for wearing loose knitted sweaters combined with a cute skirt or short has come from, but all I know is that I LOVE IT. Aren't these just the cutest:

Something of a rather delicate nature....

Something which I would like to bring up, which I know is of quite a delicate nature (literally) is the physical state and health of the models shown in the collections or shows. I know that none of the girls below look like they regularly get stuck in a big plate of Sunday roast with a big chunk of cheese cake for dessert (even better – more for me) but the models from the Nina Ricci collection I found to be a little bit too much on the skinny side of thin. The collection itself is absolutely divine, especially the carmine pink coloured chiffon dress for example, but for heaven’s sake look at the model! I just don’t get it! Which is why I’ve decided against featuring said collection here on my blog.
I absolutely understand and agree with the fact that fashion like this just simply looks much better on thin – normal weight people. It allows the pieces to fit and fall in all the right places like it’s supposed to - as unfortunate as it is for booty- and boobylicious gals like me.  But everything has to have a limit. I can see why as a Model you would give everything to fulfil or maybe please the demands of the big fashion houses and to give in to the constant pressure to keep slim, it’s your job after all, but certainly a good health should always come first? There should be someone or even some sort of organisation looking after the health and rights of the models, a union for example. They have rights just like every one of us – even if it’s just the simple right to enjoy a cookie every now and then. Ok, that is not the point but I don’t see how anyone can find it attractive and would want to have an ill-looking, skinny to the bone model promoting their product.
Don’t you think it’s much more attractive and appropriate to see a naturally glowing and fit person presenting the latest XY campaign rather than seeing a dull skinned, bone-y contour of someone plastered all over town? And FYI by glowing I mean healthy – not photo shopped in postproduction.
It’s about keeping healthy. A fit and toned self surely is much more desirable and something we should all strive for.
I very much agree with the latest developements that in some shows the size zero has been banned and "classed as unhealthy". I would really appreciate to find out about your opinions and thoughts regarding this rather delicate topic. Feel free to comment or message me. x

Resort 2012 Favourites

Ooooooh my god! I am truly and honestly absolutely madly in love with the 2011 Resort collections!
HAVE YOU SEEN IT? Once again there’s a lot of flowery print to be seen, alongside the all-time classic; lace. How I love lace! Lace skirts, tops, dresses, I’ll take it all. Something else which I’m absolutely in love with is a simple clean and clear, well executed cut with tons of nude colours combined with simple black (see 3.1 Phillip Lim or Adam) Anything from leather, silk and sequins is still very much a go-go for the next few seasons. How could anything this good ever go out of fashion?
And in case that’s not for you then how about some truly marvellous Aztec or Animal prints or some earth coloured block colour for your next big purchase (see Giambattista Valli or Proenza Schouler)?
I wanted to share some of my favourites and decided to pick out four looks out of every collection to highlight it on here. Now four is not a lot and considering that one collection usually has around a minimum of 20 looks in it, it really wasn’t the easiest task.  But please, have a look and let me know what you think and what you’re favourites are:

Find the goddess in you!

This is certainly not a new line but I am absolutely in love with the super delicious smell of the Bronze Goddess products by Estee Lauder. With hints of coconut and caramel combined with jasmine, magnolia and orange flower to name just a few, this is the perfect smell to make even the sunniest summer day even sweeter. My favourite is the Body Oil as it doesn't only make you smell like a goddess but with all the glow you will certainly look like one too!

Reiss dich zusammen!

That's easier said than done once you've seen the gorgeous collection that the geniuses at Reiss have come up with for this season! Not only does it include their usual breathtakingly beautiful occasional dresses, handbags and stilettos but also cute tees, skirts and some pretty stunning shorts! Well you say, how exciting can shorts be!? Oh trust me, I'm talking sequins and beads! It does not get any more exciting than that! - OK, I guess you could also throw in some sort of Aztec print and/or tassels but that would be rather bohoo that wuhoo...

Here are some of my favourite must-have picks for this season:

Sorry! It's soo hard to choose a favourite from a collection this good! :)
